Maith and mhaith
Maith is good in Irish. Notice how it changes to mhaith after ‘oíche' and ‘maidin'. This is because the words maidin (morning) and oíche (night) are both feminine words. The word following a feminine word is aspirated - an ‘h' is put in after the first letter and softens the sound.
